Jotman’s blogging debut was the 2006 coup in Bangkok when the blogger posted some of the first images of the revolution to reach the outside world. In 2007, Jotman reported on the Burma crisis, interviewing
escaped monks. In 2008 Jotman blogged the US election from the
grounds of Obama’s former elementary school in Jakarta. The purpose of JOTMAN.COM is to spark “creativity and global citizenship.” The blog won the “Reporters without Borders Award” for 2007 in Deutsche Welle’s BOBs competition.
